Holidays! Week 9-10★
Wednesday, 29 June 2011 |00:21

The holidays have started and every one of us continued with what we are required to do.
I continued to finalize my furniture design with the group; the final approval is still in the hands of our lecturer, Jim! I have also added on the textures for the furniture to ensure that they would match the interior design of the house to get the kind of atmosphere we are going about. This part would be shown in the team's research doc~

Week. 10

The script is only 10% completed, but nonetheless, I still have to continue to start working on the storyboard. In order to prevent the trouble of drawing again for perfection, Vanessa suggested me to do them in the thumbnail forms first, in which I did. These are the ones I have done during this week. I will continue to work more on the storyboard along with the finalized script.

Testing the colours~

There's more to be done & we're already behind schedule! GO POPPED CORNS~~

Week 08♥
Sunday, 12 June 2011 |07:23

On Monday, we continued with our idea generation for our story. Our current story is situated in an abandoned house in the 21st century, Germany. The environment will comprise of a two-storey old house with furniture being covered up by cloth to signify that it has already been abandoned for years. The camera shot will start from the 1st storey door, panning through the whole living room, going up the staircase to the 2nd storey’s study room to where the clock will be placed at. There, we will show about the happenings between the two main characters [figurines inside the cuckoo clock]. This was being thought up of previously which will still be used presently; however, the shots will still be revised again once the script is being done by Jessica so that I can make sure that the animatics that I am going to work on will look more presentable with the right shots/angles.

Current work done: Floor Plan in Perspective & Top View

P.S. Things to be done as soon as possible!
1. Furniture design to be revised
2. Environment layout to be improved [Vanessa had mentioned]
3. Final Floor plan to be done
4. Animatics to be worked on soon
5. Side view of house [1st & 2nd storey]

Week 07★
Sunday, 5 June 2011 |03:05

Monday was welcome with the comparison of our previous and present stories so that we can see if there is a difference in both of them. It's already to Week 7! So according to the pre-production schedule gantt chart, we should still be in the midst of our designing of our environment, clocks, props, as well as concept development and script! We are pretty behind time since our story kept changing, troubling Jessica to keep changing the script~ So far, everyone's doing fine with their designs too!

Tuesday was a "workshop day"! Morning was digital painting by Anita, telling us the tones of colouring, giving pictures a more realistic and 3D feel with tones of a gradient. We painted for quite some time, given that majority were first timers, thus we required more time as compared to those who have done digital painting before! I tried painting a loped-ear cottontail but it was not really at its full potential~

In the afternoon, we continued with Mr.Norman's animatics workshop. As the storyboard artist, of course I paid my fullest attention in class while my teammates joined me soon after. Mr Norman told us to draw the first 30 seconds of our story and I did; though without accurate perspective. After that, we spent some time to see through our presentation slides for our mini viva the next day.

Pictures to be inserted

Our viva was at 3pm so the time before, we carried out to double confirm our slides & things to be said. However, during the session itself, we were told that we did not make full use of our 20minutes, & actually make it shorter the better, causing ourselves to lose out since we do actually have a lot of concept development and designs for various stuffs like our character design, environment & furniture design, research and so on. That is our group's fault for that area. Mr Jim was unhappy that we did not clarify our story to him beforehand. Mr Agus also mentioned to us various ideas that can be taken consideration such that cuckoo clocks come from Germany, we do not have to stick to that idea but think of a brand new concept e.g. in Singapore, etc. Mr Melvin also told us the importance in showing our research to the lecturers as all those are key information of our work for them to see if we had done enough research and vice versa. Even though the lecturers did not mention anything about the environment designs, I know that I still have a long way to go!♥

Here are some of the new sketches I have done once again over the weekend!

Furniture Design

P.S. More design to be revised as the story gets finalized officially by the group mates & Jim!
